When I am working I listen to a lot of podcasts. Before covid, my husband and I would go to a lot of live podcast shows. I decided to use some of my favorite podcasts as events for this project.
- Small Town Murder — Keywords: comedic, dark, inappropriate
- Welcome to Night Vale — Eerie, 1950’s, off-putting, old school radio, comical
- The Moth — confessional, stand-up, honest, spotlight

Motion Poster Final
Rationale:
For my motion poster project I decided to create a poster for the podcast “Welcome to Night Vale”. My keywords for this project were “eerie” and “off-putting”. I decided to go with the man and the microphone design because I thought it lended itself to a podcast more than my other designs. I incorporated the main color scheme of the podcast, as well as they’re “eye” logo. My motion elements include a hypnotic spiral, kinetic typography, a blinking eye, and electric accents on the microphone. I tried to allow a decent amount of time to read the kinetic text, while leaving the event information always present in the bottom corner. The most difficult challenge for this project was figuring out how to loop the video just right while keeping the spiral consistent.
