3/21/21 Logo Sketches

My classmates liked the National Park Service Brewery the most, however they all suggested finding a way to make the concept more specific for my designs. So, my more specific concept is now an outdoor taproom that is situated at the start/end of park hiking trails that works as an communal area for hikers and sightseers.

My names currently in play are

  • Trailhead Tap
  • The Watering Hole
  • Arrowhead Tap

I started my logo designs by writing out each title in a variety of ways to figure out the best layout for my logos.

I also decided that whatever my logo is, it should be a design that can work on a tap handle in it’s current form, either as an alternate mark or modified.

Logo Update 3/29/21

The first version uses an inverted color scheme that was mentioned in class. The second version plays with the “tap” concept that was suggested to try in class.

A lot of the type variations have some form of texture, if I end up using any of those ones I will apply that texture on the overall design.

Horizontal and Vertical, I am also planning on designing a circular emblem format as well.

Texture

Paper

Paper will be a thicker stock with a natural grainy look and include recycled paper matter to stick with the theme of conservatorship. By using a grainy card stock it adds to the natural outdoorsy theme of the restaurant. I think a thicker card stock is appropriate because it can be reminiscent of field journals.

Ex: Birch Card Stock 80lb 30% Recycled Materials

Special Materials

Additional special materials will include tap handles. I plan to design a signature tap handle that incorporates the logo for the tap room.
